Back Pack Vacuums:
Vacuuming represents the largest task component spent cleaning any facility. The Building Services Contractors Association estimates that the average general cleaner spends 61% of their time vacuuming. The rest is taken up in trash removal, dusting, spot removal, dusting, spot cleaning, periodics and set up time. For this reason any improvement in the productivity of the vacuuming process results in significant time saved.
This time savings can then be used for one of the following:
- reduce cost
- use the time in other tasks
The back pack represents a rare innovation in our industry. It has several key differences from the standard upright machine and may be right for use in all or part of your facility. Those differences are:
- Improved vacuuming quality, dirt is picked up through a wand that can easily reach into corners, under desks and behind doors.
- Damage is reduced to baseboards, doors and furniture because of the light weight wand.
- Operator fatigue and injuries are reduced because the machine rides the cleaner's back in a mountaineer type harness.
- Reduced dusting and improved air quality results from the canister configuration and filtration system. This contains particulate matter down to 1/2 micron in size. Upright machines blow as much as 30% of the material they pick up back into the air.
